摘要：A developing unit includes a developer cartridge containing developer and adeveloping cartridge (100) with a developing cartridge body (110) comprising a mountingportion (130) and a cover member (10). The mounting portion accepts the developercartridge for replenishing developer consumed by the developing cartridge. The covermember preferably comprises a waste developer collecting portion and closes anopening of the mounting portion when the developer cartridge is not inserted into themounting portion. When a developing unit is initially constructed, printing is performedusing developer contained in the developing unit. A developer cartridge containingdeveloper can be inserted into the developing unit, allowing the supply of developer inthe developing unit to be replenished.
