摘要：A system and method is provided for presenting points-of-interest (POI)content data on a mobile device. Software instructions are stored in the memory of themobile device and are executed by the processor. The instructions enable the mobile
device to display a list of POI categories for acceptance by a user. The category may befurther divided into subcategories that are also displayed for user selection. The currentposition of the mobile device is requested from a location service provider or provided bythe user. The current position and selected category and subcategory are formulatedinto a request for POI content data. The request is sent to selected POI content serviceproviders whose service offerings include providing POI content data for thecategory/subcategory and current location. The POI content data received from theselected POI content service providers is displayed on the mobile device.
