Unit8 Big bird Lesson2
Teaching Aims:
1.The children can say the opposite words.
2.Encourage the children to describe their classmates use the adjective we learned in this unit.
Key points:
1.The pronunciation of the words.
2.How to use the opposites in the sentences.
Teaching Aids:
computer, teaching pictures and other real objects.
Teaching Procedures:
Step1.Greetings. Step2.Warming-up.
1. Have children stand up. Point to a student who is tall and say, He is a tall boy. He isn’t a short boy. Review the words tall and short.
2. Review the other opposites we learned in lesson1 use the same procedures. Step3.Learn the new words.
1.Present the flashcards for man and woman. Model the words and have the children repeat them after me.
2.Set the scene while learning the new adjectives fat, thin, long and short. 3.Play the tape and have the children touch the matching pictures.

4.Replay the tape. Stop the tape after each phrase and have children repeat the phrase.
5.Without the tape, point the pictures and elicit the correct phrase from the children. Step4.Practice.
1.I say, you do. I say the adjectives , have the children do the actions. 2.Practice the same procedure in groups. Step5.Listen and number.
1. Have the children look at the picture at the bottom of the page16. Point to the first bear and ask: What’s this? Try to elicit, It’s a fat bear. Repeat the procedure for the other bears in picture.
2. Play the tape, stopping after each phrase, and have the children point to the corresponding bear.
3. Play the tape again, stopping after each phrase. Have the children write the sentence number next to the matching bear. Step6.Let’s sing.
1.Read the first line of the song. Have the children repeat the words and touch them in their books.
2.Repeat the procedure for the rest of the lines in their books.
3.Play the tape straight through. Have the children listen and clap along with the words.
4.Play the song again from the beginning. Encourage the children to sing

along and touch the words in their books as they listen.
5.Play the tape again. Have the children sing along and clap in time. 6.Sing the song in groups bear, deer and fish.
7.Have the groups change roles while singing the song. Step7.Set homework.
1.Sing the new song to their families. 2.Try to describe their classmates in English.
