The function of advertisement is to introduce a product and give information to the customers compared with other company. That's a good way for people to choose a suitable product. Every trade has fierce competition and different company distributes various productions. At this time, customers will feel confused when facing lots of products. For example, some companies have invented the smart watch which can connect the smart phone. Without advertisements buyers cannot know this new feature, thus they put the advertisements can provide more chance for people who are not knowledge to choose their favorite product.
At most of the advertisements, some overstate information have been showed. It has created a consumer culture which makes people feel enjoyable once they purchase the product. But in most cases consumers will not use this product usually. Therefore, the advertisements give a misleading when people are shopping.
Some customers who are self-restraint will buy a product which is useful. These people will not misguide by the advertisements whatever the advertisements showing an interesting or an artistic sense feature, they will choose products meet their needs. When consumers buying something and they will consider whether they can afford or not. They won't purchase something impulse, such as a fancy car or a holiday overseas, etc.
In conclusion, advertisements have more than one face. However, I think its advantages carry more weight than its disadvantages. What we can do is control ourselves when we see the advertisements and choose product what we need. Advertisements can save our time and give more information when we shopping.
